KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 -- In conjunction with the 9th anniversary of the founding of the Yayasan J’keb Malaysia (YJM), a charity dinner will be held this Oct 6 at the TPC Kuala Lumpur in Mont Kiara to raise funds for the education and sustenance of marginalised and disadvantaged youths.

YJM Executive Secretary and Treasurer Annie Othman said the event, to be held for the very first time, would also see Tengku Puteri Diraja Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan Al-Sultan Abdullah officially announced as YJM's new patron.

Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan is the eldest princess of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

The funds raised are to cover the foundation's expenses for the homeless youth, in terms of shelter and basic needs, after they leave the Children’s Welfare Homes under the Department of Social Welfare of Malaysia (JKMM).

"YJM will provide financial assistance, education, as well as a place for youths temporarily placed at the YJM Transit House to live independently after 18 years of living under the auspices of JKMM.

"For the charity event, YJM will sell tables at RM5,000, RM10,000 and RM15,000 to individuals or corporate bodies who wish to contribute to the foundation," she said during a press conference here.
