ICYM forging strategic alliances with other institutions

MELAKA, Sept 14 – International College of Yayasan Melaka (ICYM) is continuing to develop its networking and collaboration with strategic partners in and out of the country in a wide array of fields to improve human capital and graduate marketability.

Its chief executive, Datuk Saroni Judi, said the college with 22 years of experience in higher education has more than 30 industry-relevant programmes with new diploma and degree courses being offered in cooperation with other universities.

“ICYM recently entered a joint venture with Akademi Mutawwif Professional which offers the Diploma in Mutawwif Entrepreneurship.

“We have also signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to collaborate on the Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Arabic Language and Literature with Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) starting this year,” he told reporters after ICYM’s 17th convocation in Durian Tunggal today.

The convocation ceremony which was officiated by Deputy Primary Industries Minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, saw 520 students receive their graduation scrolls for degree, diploma and certificate courses at ICYM as well as in partnership with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Technology (DAMT) holder, Mohamad Danial Aqil Mohd Swalitan, 22, received the Gold Award during the ceremony.

“Alhamdulillah for this. All my life, three principles have guided me: trust Allah, always get your parents’ blessings and be kind because kindness comes back to you,” said the young man from Batu Kurau, Perak, who would like to continue his studies to become an engineer.
