KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 12 -- Several roads in Kuala Terengganu and Kuala Nerus will be closed tomorrow night in conjunction with the Sultan Mahmud Bridge International Run, which will take place this Saturday (Sept 14).
State Traffic Investigations and Enforcement Department head Supt Abd Razak Hasan said the closure will be carried out in stages on Friday, involving roads around the Dataran Batu Buruk, Jalan Persinggahan, Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin, Pasar Payang, Jalan Kampung Cina, Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Batas Baru.
Also involved in the closure are Jalan Kemajuan, Jalan Tengku Mizan, Sultan Mahmud Bridge heading to the city, Jalan Tengku Omar, Jalan Sultan Muhammad, Jalan Gong Kapas, Jalan Sultan Omar to the Wisma Darul Iman traffic light, Ladang roundabout and the drawbridge new road until Teluk Ketapang roundbout.
“For the first phase the road will be closed to all vehicles from 11 pm to 6 am.
“Meanwhile, for the second phase, the road closure will be implemented from 6 am to noon involving roads around the Dataran Batu Buruk, Jalan Persinggahan and drawbridge new road to Teluk Ketapang roundabout,” he said in a statement.
In this regard, he advised all road users to plan their routes carefully and use the existing alternatives.
