Road closure for N. Sembilan level National Day celebration

SEREMBAN, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- In conjunction with the Negeri Sembilan state level 2019 National Day celebration at the Seremban Municipal Council field, several roads would be closed on training, rehearsal and actual celebration days.

Seremban police chief ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim said the road closure for the three days would start from 7.30 am to 12.30 pm today, 7 am to 12.30 pm tomorrow for the full rehearsal and on Aug 31 from 6 am to 12.30 pm for the National Day celebration.

“The roads, lanes and junctions involved in the closure will be controlled by police personnel and all road users should adhere to instructions and cooperate with police to avoid worsening traffic congestion during the period in Seremban town centre,” he said in a statement here today.

Among the roads and lanes involved are the entire length of Jalan Yam Tuan; traffic light junction at Jalan Tunku Hassan / Jalan Dato Abdul Malek; junction at Jalan Yam Tuan / Jalan Dato Lee Fong Yee; junction at Jalan Lee Kee Siong / Lorong Jawa 1; junction at Jalan Dato Abdul Kadir / Jalan Lee Kee Siong and the traffic light junction at Jalan Dato Bandar Tunggal / Jalan Dato Sheikh Ahmad.

Apart from that, the junction at Lorong Khalsa / Lorong Jawa 1; junction of Jalan Dato Bandar Tunggal / Jalan Berhala or Kuil; Jalan Stesen (the lane heading to Jalan Dato Bandar Tunggal); and Istana Hinggap Roundabout / Jalan Dato Hamzah are also involved.

Road users affected by the road closure should plan their journeys early to get to their respective destinations to avoid getting caught in traffic congestion.

The alternative roads to the town centre are Jalan Sungai Ujong; Jalan Tuanku Munawir; Jalan Tun Dr. Ismail; Jalan Leftenan Adnan; Jalan Haji Said and Jalan Tuanku Antah.

Motorists going to Ampangan, Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Port Dickson and other destinations advised to use the Middle Ring Road; Jalan Seremban-Kuala Pilah; Jalan Seremban-Jelebu; Jalan Rasah-Port Dickson; Jalan Seremban-Mantin; Jalan Senawang-Paroi and Jalan Persiaran Senawang 1.

For those going to Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Nilai and Kajang can use the North-South Expressway (PLUS), LEKAS Highway and the Seremban-Port Dickson Highway.
