SEREMBAN, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has urged individuals aged 40 and above from the lower income households (B40) in the state to seize the benefits offered under the Healthcare Protection Scheme for low-income group B40 (PeKa B40).
He said since the PeKa B40 was introduced by the government on April 15 until early August, there were only 2,044 recipients from the group registered under the scheme compared to 34,848 eligible individuals in the state.
“Through this scheme, various benefits can be obtained by the group including free health screenings at private and government health clinics, medical devices aid and so on with a limit of RM20,000, incentive to complete cancer treatment of RM1,000 and transportation incentive of RM500.
“The aim of the Health Ministry is to provide the assistance to those who are eligible from the lower income households to reduce their burden,” he said.
He said this to reporters after launching the Health Carnival, Meet-Customer Day and the opening of the Sikamat Health Clinic here today.
Also present were state Health, Environment, Cooperatives and Consumerism Committee chairman S.Veerapan and state Health director Datuk Dr Zainudin Mohd Ali.
Aminuddin said in order to increase the number of individuals to register for the scheme, he would direct the village heads and the Village Community Management Council (MPKK) to promote the scheme.
