ALOR SETAR, July 25 (Bernama) -- The Kedah football squad left for Kuala Lumpur today ahead of its encounter with Perak in the FA Cup 2019 final on Saturday at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
The squad, managed by Aidil Sharin Sahak, left by a flight at 8.40 am from the Sultan Abdul Halim Airport near here.
This evening, the squad is scheduled to have a practice session at the National Sports Council field in Bukit Jalil.
Kedah advanced to the final despite losing the second-leg semi-final match 2-3 to Felda United on June 30 at the Tun Abdul Razak Stadium. The tie ended in a 3-3 draw on aggregate, but Kedah went through on away-goal advantage.
Kedah, four-time winners, and Perak, twice winners, will play in front of an anticipated 80,000 fans.
Perak had beaten Pahang 4-3 on aggregate after winning the second-leg semi-final 3-0 in Ipoh on June 29.
Kedah lifted the FA Cup the last time in 2017, beating Pahang 3-2 in the final at the Shah Alam Stadium.
