New Malaysia programme platform to share government's achievement to people - Sabah CM

KOTA KINABALU, July 6 (Bernama) -- The New Malaysia programme has the potential to be a platform to disseminate the government’s achievement and development efforts to the people, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

He said the programme, organised by Sabah Information Department, was important to convey the message thus giving a better understanding of the government’s policies in the interest of people’s well-being.

“It has been a year since people gave their mandate and trust to the Pakatan Harapan government, in which case various efforts have been and will be implemented in ensuring the well-being and welfare of the people.

“The government’s initiative also includes 2019 Budget and  Mid-Term Review of the 11th Malaysia Plan, especially for the lower income groups.

“The spirit of solidarity among the people must continue to support and be together to ensure the government’s success in building a clean, dynamic and progressive nation,” he said at the launch of the programme here today.

His speech text was read by State Education and Innovation Minister, Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob.

The two-day programme which began yesterday aimed to enhance the people’s understanding and knowledge on the government’s achievements, and at the same time, to foster patriotism spirit among the people.

Mohd Shafie stressed that the Sabah government would continue to support and work closely with the Federal government in order to accelerate the economic development in the state and country.
