KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Broadcasting Department today refuted claims that Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) aired programmes that preach religion other than Islam on its TV2 channel.
In a statement issued here today, the department said the programmes aired by RTM are not religious programmes, but for the 6 am to 6.30 am slot for motivational programme.
“Every episode depicts the success and progress of every individual from a different race and religion with the intention of motivating the audience to achieve their dreams.
"The personalities share their experience and give tips on their success in their respective fields. The programme does not breach any laws in Malaysia,” it said.
It said the programme adhered to the RTM Standard Operating Procedures and was classified U for public viewing.
The statement was issued in response to a report by Terengganu UMMAH chairman Wan Mohd Faizul Wan Abas on the social media where he claimed the programme was religious in nature.
