KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 (Bernama) -- The following is the chronology of the successes of national singles badminton champion Datuk Lee Chong Wei during his 19 years of involvement in badminton.

 

2003:

Runner-up: Malaysian Open, Indian Satellite

 

2004:

Champion: Malaysian Open, Taiwan Open

Runner-up: Singapore Open

 

2005:

Champion: Malaysian Open, Denmark Open

Won the bronze medal at the World Championship in the United States

 

2006:

Champion: Malaysian Open, Swiss Open and Asian Championship in Johor Bahru

Runner-up: Taiwan Open, Macau Open, Hong Kong Open

Won two gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia

 

2007:

Champion: Indonesian Open, Philippines Open, Japan Open, French Open

Runner-up: China Open, Hong Kong Open

 

2008:

Champion: Malaysian Open, Super Series Masters Finals

Won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing, China

Runner-up: Japan Open, Macau Open, China Open

Reaped seventh title at the National Grand Prix Championship

 

2009:

Champion: Malaysian Open, Swiss Open, Indonesian Open, Malaysian Open Gold Grand Prix, Macau Open, Hong Kong Open, Super Series Masters Finals

Runner-up: Korean Open and All-England

 

2010:

Champion: Malaysian Open, Korean Open, All-England, Indonesian Open, Malaysian Open Gold Grand Prix, Macau Open, Japan Open, Hong Kong Open, Final Super Series

Won two gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India; a silver medal at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China

 

2011:

Champion: Malaysian Open, All-England, Indian Open, Malaysian Open Gold Grand Prix, Indonesian Open, French Open, 

Runner-up Korean Open, Japan Open, Denmark Open

Won the silver medal at the World Championship in London, England

 

2012:

Champion: Korean Open, Malaysian Open, Malaysian Open Gold Grand Prix, Japan Open, Denmark Open, 

Runner-up: All-England, Indian Open, Hong Kong Open, 

Won the silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England

 

2013:

Champion: Korean Open, Malaysian Open, Indian Open, Indonesian Open, Japan Open, Hong Kong Open, Final Super Series

Runner-up All-England, Denmark Open

Won the silver medal at the World Championship in Guangzhou, China

 

2014:

Won a gold medal and a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia
