NEW DELHI, June 12 (Bernama) -- The High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi organised an Aidilfitri "open house" on Tuesday, showcasing Malaysia's culture and cuisine to more than 250 guests.
The guests included prominent individuals from different walks of life, business people, and about 100 diplomats and their spouses.
High commission staff and Perwakilan, the spouses of diplomatic mission officials, joined hands to present a Malaysian experience with kampung-style decorations and home-cooked delicacies.
The Aidilfitri open house is one of the largest gatherings every year at the high commission, located in New Delhi's Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave.
"We try to celebrate Aidilfitri with the same spirit as in Malaysia. Perwakilan and our staff made excellent preparations this year to make it a successful event," High Commissioner Datuk Hidayat Abdul Hamid said.
The heads of ASEAN missions in New Delhi, Kuwaiti ambassador to India Jasem Ibrahem Al Najem, general secretary of the Jama Masjid Delhi Advisory Council Syed Tariq Bukhari and travel industry veteran Guldeep Singh Sahni were among those who attended the event.
