KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 (Bernama) -- AmBank Group aims to attract 600 new billers to use the online bill payment service provider, JomPAY.
AmBank Business Banking managing director, Christopher Yap, said the bank had approached charitable organisations, building maintenance, associations and businesses to adopt the payment method that can increase efficiency and provide more security.
"We would like to encourage customers to use JomPAY so that they can cut down on manual reconciliation works and drive more efficiency into running the business and reduce costs," he said.
He said this to reporters after announcing the bank’s collaboration with the Malaysian Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Association to enable donations to the association to be made via JomPAY.
Yap added that promoting the use of JomPAY was one of the bank’s efforts to encourage cashless transaction among Malaysians, in line with Bank Negara Malaysia's initiative to encourage a cashless society.
AmBank currently has 188 JomPAY billers.
Operated by Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd, JomPAY is Malaysia's largest online bill payment service with more than 5,013 biller codes.
It enables bill payments via Internet banking, mobile banking and ATMs of 40 banks in Malaysia, providing added convenience, accessibility and flexibility.
