GEORGE TOWN, March 23 (Bernama) -- Aemulus Holdings Bhd, a market leader in automated test equipment (ATE) solutions, is investing RM35 million in its facilities in Bayan Lepas over a five-year period to 2021.

Chief executive officer Ng Sang Beng said in line with the company's objective to constantly enhance and offer innovative test solutions, a new facility to be known as Aemulus Base would accommodate its continued expansion with state-of-the-art research and development facilities.

"We are a cohort of tech-innovators. This expansion will bolster our objectives to serve our customers with compelling ATE test solutions and test ecosystem," he said in his speech during the ground-breaking ceremony for Aemulus Base officiated by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng here today.

He added that the Aemulus Base construction on about 0.65 hectare was expected to be completed in 12 months.

Ng also said the group currently had about 140 workers but the headcount was expected to increase to about 500 by 2021.

"We plan to increase the staff size to 500 people, who are mostly high-skilled workers, by 2021," he said.

Meanwhile, Aemulus chairman Chok Kwee Bee said according to the MarketsandMarkets Research, the global automation testing market was expected to grow from US$8.52 billion in 2018 to US$19.27 billion by 2023.

"This is driven by the era of digitalisation, Internet of things, big data, autonomous driving, robotics and artificial intelligence. Therefore, Aemulus will continue to expand and is getting ready for it," she said.

The new facility will include three laboratories for product development and software testing, various types of conference rooms and a collection of cosy and individual lounge spaces across the entire building.

"Within this built-up area of 100,000 sq ft, Aemulus Base will house our employees comfortably with a rooftop garden, cafe, running track, deluxe shower suites and parking," she said.

Aemulus’ core expertise is in the design and development of ATE that are used by semiconductor manufacturers and the provision of design consultancy and test-related services.
