KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Penang (FAP) has made a drastic move to relieve head coach Ahmad Yusoff immediately after the poor performance of the Panthers in the 2019 Premier League.

FAP president, Dr Amar Pritpal Abdullah in a brief statement announced the decision was unanimously taken in a special association meeting today.

“The drastic decision was taken after evaluating all current aspects as well as to improve the team’s capability in the remaining competition of the league.

"Haji Ahmad Yusoff had been informed of the decision,” said Dr Amar.

For the record, Penang are now lying in the ninth spot out of 12 teams in the Premier League after recording one win, one draw and three losses.

Ahmad Yusoff is the third coach to be relieved of the top job this season after Mohd Fauzi Pilus who trained Police and Mohd Farhan Abdullah (Sarawak) faced similar fate following the poor showing by their respective teams.
