KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- More than 5,000 visitors attended Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP)’s annual Technology, Education and Career (TEC) 2019 Fair on Jan 29 and 30.
UTP Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib said TEC is one of the most effective ways for its students to gain visibility and maximise their potentials to be recruited, as each year the university brings in prospective employers right to their doorsteps.
“This event provides the best platform for UTP students to directly communicate and engage with the industry in order to understand the challenges and requirements of the job market today.
With this understanding, our students and graduates will be better prepared with the knowledge, competencies and attitude as required by employers. This is important to gear up our graduates to face the challenges of IR4.0,” he said in a statement today.
This year, TEC features over 50 companies and UTP partners from various industries under one roof which included PETRONAS and Schlumberger, ExxonMobil, Hartalega, TechnipFMC, Sapura Energy, Top Gloves and Nestle.
With the theme “Trailblazing Talents”, graduates-to-be and job seekers who attended TEC 2019 have the opportunity to interact and meet face-to-face with recruiters and professionals from the leading engineering, oil, gas and energy industries all over the world.
