Poplook to give 25 pct of sales profit to help needy children

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 (Bernama) -- Poplook, a company which specialises in modest fashion attire, will contribute 25 per cent of its sales profit from its 'Poplook Gives Back Collection', the fifth in the series, this time in collaboration with actress Sari Yanti, to welfare organisation, Hope Worldwide Malaysia.

Poplook co-founder, Maryanne Low said the initiative was undertaken to help poor children and to create public awareness of their plight so as to encourage the more fortunate to give back to society.

“Our initiative focuses on assisting charitable and welfare bodies, and on the needs of women and children,” she said at the launch of the collection, today.

“As the majority of our customers are women, with a big number of them being mothers, Poplook also focuses on organisations which carry out efforts in tackling related issues.

"Through the previous collections, we managed to contribute to a number of selected charitable and welfare organisations,” she added.

Meanwhile, Sari Yanti said she was excited to be part of the initiative which could help bring change to the lives of needy children.

"As a mother, I understand the wish to give the best to our children but the rising cost of living has a bearing on our daily expenses, and I cannot imagine the difficulty faced by some families to even provide basic needs," she added.

The collection this time which includes a blouse, long pants and a suit, combines Sari Yanti’s personal fashion style and the theme, ‘Hope’, with eight of the 10 pieces embellished with pearls.
