PENSIANGAN, Jan 13 (BERNAMA) -- Ilau Panawari, namely, a festival aimed at uniting the Murut in the past must be organised every year to highlight the uniqueness of the culture and uphold the ethnic group.
Ilau Panawari Festival advisor Matusin Eloh, 61, said the organisation of the festival was very important to ensure the Murut young generations knew their culture.
‘’As the festival has not been held for the past 40 years, it is increasingly forgotten. So, its organisation this year is the first step for us to continue to appreciate and celebrate this festival every year,’’ he said when met at the 2019 Pensiangan level Ilau Panawari Festival here yesterday.
The festival was launched by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
