PETALING JAYA, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- In order to improve traffic flow on the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) from Puchong and Kepong, a road diversion will be in place at the Jalan Majlis Interchange (Exit 1110) for a three-month survey beginning Dec 15.
Jointly initiated by Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd, the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) and Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), the new scheme involves reducing the current four-phase signalised system to a three-phase system and should benefit 63,000 motorists.
During the survey period, motorists from Puchong who normally use the slip road to get to Jalan SS7/3 must now use the Jalan Majlis flyover to turn left into Jalan SS7/9 to get to said road.
For motorists from Kelana Jaya/Kepong who normally use the slip road to get to Jalan SS 8/8, they will now have to turn left into Jalan Majlis and make a U-turn towards said road.
“The queue at the junction is therefore expected to be just 300 metres from the 800 metres presently at peak hour. It should also reduce waiting time from nine minutes to four minutes,” said Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd engineering department head, Fransisco Anthony Doss, at a briefing in the Litrak Operational Complex today.
Litrak assured there will be signage, buntings and banners to guide traffic. For enquiries, call the LDP helpline at 03-7494 7333.
