Show the world Islam is symbol of success

NILAI, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- Religious and racial sensitivity issues taking place in Malaysia must be purified wisely to highlight the blessings of the Islamic religion, said Universiti Sains Islam (USIM) Pro-Chancellor Tun Zaki Azmi.

Zaki, who is also former Chief Judge of Malaysia, said that in the context of a plural society in Malaysia currently, Muslims must be tolerant of non-Muslims.

’’This is the challenge to the Muslims today specifically in Malaysia living in a plural society. Knowledge sanity is important in being compassionate to the non-Muslim community so that Islam con be used as the best example as a way of life. 

‘’The majority Muslims populace must wisely preach because the negative image and perception highlighted by the mass media on Islam must be addressed by portraying the beauty of Islam especially in the aspect of excellent work culture such as being disciplined, honest, clean and others,’’ he said in a statement here today. 

He also said Islamic scientists in numerous fields must collaborate to re-build the positive Islamic reputation in their respective fields such as during the glory of Islam during the era of Andalusia which was a history to be viewed with a feeling of realisation.

‘’Great Muslim scientists such as Ibnu Sina, Ibnu Khaldun, Al Khawarizmi, Al Farabi and others were examples of how the Islamic civilisations had brought light to the progress of the world.

‘’This is the challenge to the Muslim scientists today to rise again and prove to the world that Islam is a symbol of progress,’’ he added.
