SEPANG, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- Works Minister Baru Bian today officially opened the Bandar Serenia elevated interchange at Km35 of the North-South Expressway Central Link or ELITE Expressway.
The RM108-million interchange, which links the ELITE Expressway to Dengkil and Kota Warisan via the Salak Tinggi-Putrajaya federal road, is situated between the Nilai Utara elevated interchange and the KL International Airport (KLIA) elevated interchange.
Baru, in his speech, said the Bandar Serenia interchange can be the catalyst for development in the Dengkil, Kota Warisan, Bandar Serenia, Ampar Tenang, Salak Tinggi and surrounding areas.
“The Bandar Serenia elevated interchange shortens the journey for the people of Kota Warisan and Dengkil to get to the highway. These residents had to get through the Nilai, KLIA or Putrajaya toll plazas previously,” he said.
The interchange has a 10-lane toll plaza as well as a surau, public toilets, a ‘ wakaf’ (gazebo) and a parking area. It is the 110th elevated interchange of the PLUS highway network.
Meanwhile, PLUS managing director Datuk Azman Ismail said to reporters that state-of-the-art and green technology had been applied in developing the Bandar Serenia elevated interchange.
"Among others, light-emitting diode (LED) lamps are used for the street, building and office lights and rainwater is harvested to water plants and clean the surroundings,” he said.
