Sathianathan leaves Felda United

25/10/2018 08:02 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 (Bernama) – Felda United’s head coach, B. Sathianathan will not be in charge of the team in the Malaysian League competition next season.

The former national squad coach revealed he made the decision after the team's management decided to cut his salary by up to 60 per cent as well as reducing the budget to get quality players.

Sathianathan said he had informed the team’s management on his decision at a recent meeting.

"I have to be professional in this regard because I work full-time as a coach and need to support my family.

"More disappointingly, Felda United's management has also reduced the budget for me to get quality players to face the Super League next season," he told Bernama today.

Sathianathan, who had previously handled several local teams, explained that he did not blame Felda United's management for deciding to cut the budget but was focusing on continuing his coaching career with other teams.
