Irwan Serigar earned RM2.94 million from January 2011 to June 2018

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 24 (Bernama) – The overall income of former Treasury Secretary-General Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah from January 2011 to June 2018 was RM2.94 million, Dewan Rakyat was told today.

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said the salaries were received when Mohd Irwan served as Deputy Secretary-General of Treasury (Policy) from Dec 31, 2010 and Secretary-General of Treasury from Aug 24, 2012 to June 13, 2018.

"He was appointed Treasury Secretary-General on August 24, 2012 and underwent compulsory retirement on March 6, 2017. He was subsequently appointed to the contract service from March 7, 2017 until March 6, 2019.

"However, his services were shortened to June 13, 2018. His total income from January 2011 to June 2018 was RM2.94 million," he said.

Lim said this in a written statement to Lim Lip Eng (DAP-Kepong) dated Oct 23, 2018.

‘’As of June 2018, Mohd Irwan had held non-executive chairman/non-independent non-executive director/director’s posts in 23 companies owned by the Minister of Finance Incorporated (MKD)," he said.

Among the MKD companies of which Mohd Irwan was board member were 1Malaysia Development Bhd as non-executive chairman, Bandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd (non-executive chairman), Khazanah Nasional Bhd (director), MyHSR Corp Sdn Bhd (non-executive chairman) and Wakala Global Sukuk Bhd (non-executive chairman).
