JAKARTA, Oct 11 (Bernama) – Malaysia won three more gold medals today in the mission to achieve the target of 15 gold medals at the 2018 15th Asian Para Games.
As of 6.30 pm Indonesian time, Malaysia had collected 12 gold, 18 silver and 18 bronze.
National para cyclist Nur Azlia Syafinaz Mohd Zais won the gold medal in the 3000m individual pursuit which took place at the Jakarta International Velodrome.
The second gold medal was won by the national bowling trio team in the Mix Trios TPB8 + TPB8/9 + TPB9/10 event while the third gold medal was won by national swimmer Muhammad Nur Saiful in the S5 50m freestyle event.
Malaysia's para cyclists also won two silver medals in the 4000m pursuit through Mohd Khairul Hazwan, and C 1-5 team sprint event.
In the athletics event, the country's long jumper, Wong Kar Gee won a silver medal for the T12 men's category.
Malaysia took part in 15 of 18 sports events and targeted 15 gold medals, to equal the achievement at the 2014 Asian Para Games in Incheon, South Korea.
