KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- In conjunction with the upcoming World Rivers Day, the Sungai Bunus Action Group (SBAG) will be organising the ‘Bunus Fun Walk 4 River 2018' on Sunday, Sept 29, from 7am to 12pm.
SBAG chairman Yasmin Rashid said the fun walk aims to raise at least RM15,000 to help the group scale-up and enhance the community urban farms in several areas along the banks of Bunus River.
“We are now calling out for partnerships from corporate organisations to support the fun walk through various sponsorship packages.
“The fun walk will involve (a distance of) 3.5 km around the Bunus River retention pond (near Taman Tasik Titiwangsa) to symbolise the distance that marginalised communities would have to walk in order to have access to clean river water,” she said to Bernama, today.
Yasmin added that the fun walk will cater to 1,000 participants, and the organisers are also hoping for the business community to join the event.
Apart from the fun walk, participants will have the opportunity to take part in activities such as restoration works and educational workshops.
