KEPALA BATAS, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Tudor Pro Cycling Team's Arvid de Kleijn bounced back from a disappointing third placing in Stage One by romping to victory in Stage Two of the 2025 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) today.
The 31-year-old Dutchman powered to victory in another mass finish, completing the 163-kilometre (km) ride from Padang Besar to Kepala Batas in three hours, 29 minutes and 59 seconds (s).
Stage One winner Matteo Malucelli of XDS Astana Team had to play second fiddle today, while Enrico Zanoncello of VF Group Bardiani-CSF came in third.
“I came here to win, and I knew I could do it with the support of my teammates. They did a fantastic job and put me in the perfect position,” said De Kleijn.
Malucelli, however, held on to the Green Jersey as the overall leader and the Orange Jersey (Sprint King).
Malaysia's Muhammad Nur Aiman Rosli of Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG), meanwhile, kept hold of the White Jersey (Best Asian Rider) despite his 81st placing.
Another TSG rider, Wan Abdul Rahman Hamdan (MAS), clocked 3:29:59s today to be the ASEAN stage best rider, with the category introduced this year in conjunction with the 47th ASEAN Summit hosted by Malaysia.
Stage Three of the 2.Pro status race continues tomorrow from Gerik to Pasir Puteh, covering 198.2km and featuring three climb zones in Gerik, Sri Banding and Puncak Titiwangsa, as well as sprint zones in Jeli, Bukit Bunga and Machang.
