TAWAU, Sept 26 (Bernama) -- Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has once again reminded Malaysians to replace their damaged MyKads at the National Registration Department to enable them to enjoy the petrol subsidy under BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme.
Saifuddin Nasution said the government is offering free replacement of damaged MyKad chips at all NRD offices and counters throughout Malaysia until Oct 7 to ensure that no citizen is left out of receiving the subsidy benefits.
"Previously, we didn't need to bring MyKad to buy petrol, but on the 30th of this month, we need to use MyKad to fill up petrol. This distinguishes whether a person is a Malaysian or not," he said when speaking at a Keadilan Gathering Programme in conjunction with 27 years of reforms at Dewan Terbuka Awam Merotai Besar, here today.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Minister of Finance, previously announced the implementation of a targeted subsidised fuel system to enable the people to enjoy RON95 petrol at a price of RM1.99 per litre compared to the current market price of RM2.05 per litre.
This implementation will be carried out in stages, namely on Sept 27 for military and police personnel, Sept 28 for recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) who belong to the B40 and Sept 30 for the general public.
Meanwhile, Saifuddin Nasution said the security of Sabah has always been a priority for the government and the country.
According to him, peace and order do not happen by themselves or come by chance, but rather occur because the country's leadership carries out its responsibilities.
