KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) today issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain, and strong wind warning for Kuala Lumpur and seven states, valid until 9 pm today.
In the alert issued at 5.15 pm, MetMalaysia said the severe weather is expected to affect several areas in Selangor, including Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, and Hulu Langat.
In Pahang, the affected areas are Cameron Highlands, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin. In Terengganu, the warning covers Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun, and Kemaman.
The same conditions are expected in Negeri Sembilan, including Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, and Jempol, and in Johor, covering Segamat, Kluang, and Mersing.
Over in Sabah, the West Coast (Ranau), Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan), and Kudat (Kota Marudu and Pitas) are also expected to experience similar conditions.
In Sarawak, Kuching, Serian, and Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya) are affected.
