KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 (Bernama) -- Marrybrown, Malaysia’s homegrown Halal Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), recently raised RM400,000 for local charities, with RM30,000 coming from its inaugural Charity Golf Tournament 2025 at Forest City Golf Resort in Gelang Patah, Johor.

The event brought together golfers, corporate partners, and community supporters to benefit the Marrybrown Charities Association. The RM30,000 raised was evenly distributed among six Johor-based charities, with each receiving RM5,000.

The beneficiaries included Pertubuhan Kebajikan Shan De, Persatuan Penjagaan Kebajikan Sherun, Yayasan Sultanah Fatimah, Persatuan Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal Johor Bahru, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Johor (Rumah Berkat), and Persatuan Kebajikan Yu Shan, Johor Bahru.

Marrybrown chief executive officer Daniel Chan in a statement, expressed gratitude to the corporate partners, golfers, and sponsors for supporting the event.

“The tournament united the community for a greater cause, showing how shared compassion can be turned into real support for those in need. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to achieving even more in the future,” he said.

Following the success of its inaugural Charity Golf Tournament, Marrybrown remains committed to driving initiatives that strengthen community bonds and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, according to the statement.

The Marrybrown Charities Association was established with the aim of uplifting underprivileged and disabled children, as well as supporting elderly care homes, disaster relief efforts, and health-related causes.

Among its key initiatives is the “Back to School” programme, a collaboration with the Ministry of Education, which ensures that children from disadvantaged backgrounds start their academic year with the necessary tools and support.

This highlights Marrybrown's commitment to spreading warmth and care throughout the community.

In addition, the association runs several long-term projects, including creating job opportunities for children with special needs, constructing playlands in government hospitals to brighten young patients' days, and supporting healthcare centres focused on heart disease and Down syndrome.

“These ongoing initiatives reflect Marrybrown’s belief that true success is not just measured by business growth, but by the positive impact it has on the lives of others,” the statement added.
