The 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) gold medallists lived up to the billing as the tournament’s top seeds by surviving a rubber-game duel against South Korean pair Kim Jae Hyeon-Lee Sang Won, winning 21-16, 19-21, 21-14 in one hour and two minutes at the Educity Sports Complex to secure their maiden international title.
Muhammad Faiq-Hong Quan, both aged 19, pocketed US$720 (about RM3,027) for their win, while their opponents took home US$420 (approximately RM2,018).
The duo will next feature in the Indonesia Masters I 2025 in Riau, where they will take on Bo-Yuan Chen-Tang Kai Wei of Taiwan in the qualifying round.
