KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 14 (Bernama) -- Awareness about integrity should not only be conveyed through formal channels, but instead needs to be done using approaches that are fresh and relevant to people's daily lives.

Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) chairman Tan Sri Dr Ismail Bakar said programmes like Larian ERAT Malaysia proved that messages on integrity could be brought closer to the people.

"The run, themed 'Integriti Dijulang, Negara Bermaruah', is not merely a sports event, but about togetherness, supporting one another and celebrating every step. Every step we take is not merely about getting to the finishing line, but also training in discipline, resilience and responsibility - elements that also shape the values of integrity and identity in life.

"As such, through this run, the EAIC is trying to foster integrity in a fresh way that is close to the community’s lifestyle so that awareness of integrity is not just a heavy topic but can be practised and understood in real life," he told reporters after the Larian ERAT Malaysia at Dataran Batu Buruk here last night.

At the event, Ismail also launched the EAIC’s new logo and a Public Service Announcement (PKA) advertisement in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), which will be screened on various media platforms to convey messages of integrity and prevention of misconduct.

He said the launch of the new logo and the PKA is a continuation of the EAIC's rebranding that was announced on Aug 8.

"It aims to strengthen the EAIC's new image as an institution that proactively promotes integrity, enhances public understanding and encourages community involvement in combating misconduct,” he said.

Ismail stressed that the EAIC's commitment to strengthening awareness of integrity will continue to be empowered to ensure transparency and accountability in enforcement agency services for the well-being of the people and the country.

The one-day programme, organised by the EAIC in collaboration with the Terengganu State Secretary, Terengganu Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Terengganu Strategic & Integrity Institute (TSIS), attracted about 1,000 participants.

Various activities were also held, including exhibitions, 'pocket talk’ interactive sessions, Rahmah Sales, as well as activities in the form of education and public awareness to ensure the message about integrity reaches all participants.
