KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- Yayasan Taqwa under the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) will cover the registration fees for 19-year-old Muhammad Aidil Izzuddin Akhbar Nizam, who is facing financial difficulties in continuing his studies at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.
He said Muhammad Aidil will also be provided with a laptop to help with his studies.
“Seeing Aidil and his family’s determination, I reached out to him via video call to express my concern.
“We will also look into any additional support he may need to ensure he can start his studies smoothly and comfortably,” he said in a statement posted on Facebook.
He said education is the key to success and every young person deserves equal opportunities, adding that he hopes the support will inspire Muhammad Aidil and other students facing similar challenges.
“His dream of pursuing an education should not be put on hold, especially with his father bedridden from a stroke and his mother working tirelessly selling kuih to support the family,” he said.
Muhammad Aidil’s financial hardships were recently reported by a local newspaper.
