JOHOR BAHRU, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- The National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (Tekun) today officially launched the TikTok Shop LIVE Hub studio in Johor Bahru which was fully completed in mid-August.
Johor Youth, Sports, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives committee chairman Mohd Hairi Mad Shah said it is equipped with two live broadcast studio units to help entrepreneurs market their products online.
"Entrepreneurs and content creators now have the opportunity to produce live streams and short videos in a more conducive space equipped with sophisticated equipment.
"My perception is that this initiative is capable of helping them generate extraordinary income and strengthen their businesses on the TikTok platform," he added during the launch of TikTok Shop LIVE Hub x Tekun Nasional at the Tekun Ar Rahnu office in Bandar Baru Uda here today.
Also present at the ceremony were Tekun Nasional Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Adam Abdul Ghani, Tekun Nasional Chairman Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid and TikTok Shop Strategic Partnerships Director Nur Azre Abdul Aziz.
Meanwhile, Adam said the strategic collaboration with TikTok Shop Malaysia is expected to enhance market access and boost sales for entrepreneurs through the e-commerce platform.
He noted that five studios had previously been completed, three at the Tekun Nasional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur and two in Penampang, Sabah.
He said that as of August 19, more than 300 entrepreneurs have taken advantage of the facilities, resulting in 600 hours of live streaming and 8.8 million views.
TikTok Shop also said it also organised 'Online Promotion and Business Workshops' for Tekun Nasional entrepreneurs at each location.
"Additionally, the LIVE Hub training facilities built has also made an impact with 21 training sessions or workshops held with 3,000 local product orders sold," he said.
Therefore, he affirmed that Tekun would continue to work with TikTok Shop to digitise micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through several programmes such as the Entrepreneurship Basics Seminar, JomKopi and JomSembang.
He concluded that this partnership reflected a strong synergy model to develop the Johor economy and entrepreneurs, especially through the guidance centre and TikTok Shop Live Hub.
