GEORGE TOWN, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- Preparations for the Malaysia Day 2025 celebration at PICCA@Arena Butterworth Convention Centre on Sept 16 have reached 85 per cent and are progressing smoothly, Penang Deputy State Secretary Muhamad Ghopran Yeop Hamzah said.
He said the PICCA@Arena Butterworth Convention Centre main hall can accommodate up to 6,000 visitors at a time, with the state government providing ample facilities, including parking bays and food trucks, to ensure a comfortable experience for all attendees.
Muhamad Ghopran said the state government would also implement a one-way traffic system in front of the PICCA@Arena Butterworth Convention Centre to ensure smooth traffic flow during the celebration, in addition to holding a full dress rehearsal the day before.
“Several media interview sessions have also been arranged as part of efforts to promote the event,” he told reporters here today.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow invited members of the public to join the historic celebration at PICCA@Arena Butterworth Convention Centre, which was being held in the state for the first time.
“This is a good opportunity to bring together people from all states, including Sabah and Sarawak, to celebrate an event that highlights cultural diversity and strengthens the spirit of unity.
“I believe this celebration will further strengthen the spirit of togetherness among the people of the peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak,” he said.
