TAWAU, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil will be on a two-day working visit to Sabah starting today.
This morning, he is scheduled to observe the operation of the Sepagaya Tower in Kampung Sepagaya, Lahad Datu.
Tomorrow, Fahmi will check on the implementation of the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme at a supermarket in Taman Sejati, Tawau.
He will later attend the “Hari Bersama Komuniti” and launch the Sabah-level Mobile Integrated Radio and Internet Communication System (PRIME) at NADI Kampung Sungai Iman, also in Tawau.
PRIME is a strategic initiative of the Communications Ministry through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to strengthen disaster and emergency preparedness in public areas.
The system, a vehicle-based mobile integrated communication platform equipped with satellite, cellular, two-way radio, Wi-Fi and drone technologies, is fully developed by MCMC with a combination of local and foreign technologies.
In the afternoon, Fahmi is scheduled to present a Tabung Kasih@HAWANA contribution to Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) retainer Ismail Lamo at Taman Victoria, Tawau.
