PUTRAJAYA, Sept 4 (Bernama) -- A total of 19 students sponsored by the Public Service Department (JPA) for the 2023 intake have successfully secured places at prestigious universities within the Top 20 of the QS World University Ranking Global.
In a statement today, JPA announced that this achievement is the result of the students' and educators' hard work, high discipline, and extraordinary fighting spirit throughout their A-Level studies.
Among the prestigious universities the students will be attending are the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, University College London, King's College London, The London School of Economics and Political Science, and The University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom.
Among the excellent students who secured places at these top universities are Muhammad Umar Nor’azim (A-Level results: 3A*), who will study Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, and Chng Suzanne (A-Level results: 4A*), who will study Chemical and Biotechnology Engineering, also at the University of Cambridge.
Other students include Rubinthiran a/l Yogarajah (A-Level results: 3A*), who will pursue Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, and Muhammad Fitri Hatim Zainuddin (A-Level results: 4A*), who will study Mathematics at King's College London.
"Their achievements not only bring pride to themselves, their families, and their educational institutions, but also prove that Malaysia is capable of producing world-class generations who will elevate the name of Malaysia on the international stage," the statement said.
JPA noted that this success reflects the commitment of the MADANI government to nurturing outstanding, world-class human capital, in line with the aspiration of making Malaysia a high-performing, competitive, and respected country on the global stage.
"This excellence is in line with the MADANI government's aspiration to serve the people, based on the values of Excellence, Integrity, and Compassion, in order to produce a credible generation to inherit the nation," the statement added.
According to JPA, all these students carry a great responsibility as "mini ambassadors" for the country, reflecting the image of Malaysians who are knowledgeable, ethical, and competitive at the global level.
"JPA hopes that they will continue to succeed in their studies, bring honour to the country, and return to their homeland to contribute their energy as high-quality human capital who will together drive the country's development for the well-being of the people and the future prosperity of Malaysia," JPA stated.
