APR Accreditation Cycle Now Open Until Sept 12 - IPRM

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- The Accredited in Public Relations (APR) accreditation cycle is now open, with the deadline for submissions on Sept 12.

The Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM), which administers the accreditation, said panel interviews would be conducted on Sept 22, followed by the Accreditation Awarding Ceremony in October.

Accreditation Chair of IPRM Prof Datuk Seri Dr Syed Arabi Syed Abdullah Idid said the accreditation equips practitioners to navigate complex communication landscapes with wisdom, foresight, and credibility.

“It is a mark of distinction that positions PR and communications as a respected profession. 

“When PR and communication professionals seek accreditation, they are not only strengthening their own careers but also uplifting the entire industry,” he was quoted as saying in a statement issued by IPRM.

Syed Arabi said that for the past 50 years, IPRM has been establishing this benchmark for the industry, similar to other professional bodies globally, including the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS), Perhimpunan Hubungan Masyarakat Indonesia (PERHUMAS), and the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).

APR designation is recognised as a benchmark of excellence, signalling that a practitioner has met rigorous standards of knowledge, ethics, and strategic capability. In a world where trust is fragile and communication is complex, accreditation is fast becoming the defining mark of a credible PR professional.
