Kuching City Get RM1 Mln Boost From Press Metal Bintulu

KUCHING, Aug 12 (Bernama) -- Kuching City FC receive a timely shot in the arm ahead of the 2025/2026 Super League when Press Metal Bintulu Sdn Bhd sponsors the team with a RM1 million contribution for one season.

The sponsorship memorandum signing ceremony at Pullman Hotel, here, was officiated by Kuching City FC chairman, Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman together with Press Metal Bintulu deputy chief executive officer, Ooi Beng Guan and Kuching City FC chief executive officer, Iswandi Ali Hassan.

Fazzrudin, who is also the president of the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS), said the strategic partnership with Press Metal which is now entering its third year proves the company's confidence in the team's potential.

According to him, this support has helped Kuching City build a long-term plan to produce local players who can compete in the Super League.

Commenting on the team's performance, he was satisfied with the inaugural victory against Kelantan The Real Warriors FC on August 9 and is confident that import and local players could provide great competition.

Fazzrudin, however, reminded the players to stay focused ahead of the next clash, including a challenging match against Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) on August 24 at the State Stadium, Kuching.

For the FA Cup competition, Kuching City FC has set a target of advancing to the quarter-finals, with a realistic approach to go further depending on current performance.

Apart from football, Press Metal also contributes to various community initiatives in Sarawak including the construction of educational facilities, health assistance worth millions of ringgit and sponsorship of other sports such as badminton.
