KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- SME Corp Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Rizal Datuk Nainy was presented with the Service Leadership Award at the Malaysia Industry Awards (Minda) 2025 ceremony held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Aug 7.
SME Corp, in a statement today, said the recognition under the Industrial Excellence Award category was presented by the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka Tun Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam.
The event was also graced by the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
According to the agency, the award honours Rizal as a visionary leader for his dedication, integrity, and transformative inspiration in the nation’s economic landscape and progress.
“This prestigious award also recognises his leadership in steering SME Corp Malaysia’s efforts to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs),” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Rizal described the recognition as a shared success with the agency’s entire workforce, who embrace the principle of “T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More” in carrying out the organisation’s mandate.
Rizal also expressed his appreciation to SME Corp Malaysia’s management and staff for their strong teamwork, dedication, and high commitment in fulfilling the agency’s entrusted responsibilities.
“Moving forward, I am confident SME Corp Malaysia will continue to perform its role effectively, especially as we approach the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) period.
“This is crucial to boosting MSMEs’ contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 50 per cent through various planned initiatives, including MSME scaling strategies to increase the number of medium-sized firms from the current 1.6 per cent to five per cent by 2030,” he said.
Minda 2025, organised by the Federation of Malaysian Business Associations (FMBA), celebrates the achievements of entrepreneurs, the business community, individuals and organisations for excellence and recognises their significant contributions to Malaysia’s economic growth.
