SIBU, Aug 10 (Bernama) -- Sarawak’s Ministry for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development (KPWK) will expand its Outreach Programme to another 13 zones across the state this year.
State Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said the two-day pilot phase in the central zone, covering eight state constituencies, began yesterday, bringing together 25 invited strategic partners under the theme “Kamek Prihatin, Kitak Penting” (We Care, You Matter).
“After this, we plan to carry out the outreach programme in 13 zones across Sarawak. No area will be left out and the programme will be adapted to local needs,” she said during the launch at Dewan Kompleks Islam Sarawak today.
She said the initiative aims to ensure the state government’s plans, policies, and programmes reach grassroots leaders, women’s representatives, community heads, and residents, at longhouses, settlements and villages.
Fatimah emphasised that Sarawak offers unique initiatives not found in other states, including measures to grow its economy and enhance public wellbeing.
She added that increased state revenue has been channelled back to the people through various programmes, including those under the ministry.
