SEREMBAN, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- SJKC Chung Hua in Port Dickson has issued a formal apology after the Malaysian flag was mistakenly flown upside down at its premises last Friday.

In a joint statement by the school board, Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) and school administration, the school expressed regret over the incident, which it attributed to an oversight by a staff member.

“The incident occurred on the afternoon of Aug 1, when a school employee was installing national flags before the end of the workday. Due to carelessness, one of the flags was hoisted upside down,” according to the statement posted on the school’s Facebook page.

The school was alerted around 5 pm and immediately rectified the error. It stressed that the mistake was unintentional but acknowledged the public concern, especially after images circulated on social media.

SJKC Chung Hua said it remains committed to upholding respect for national symbols and pledged to enhance internal monitoring and procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
