MEDAN, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, has been conferred the Ubudiyah Honorary Award by Yayasan Ubudiyah Indonesia and Universitas Deztron Indonesia in recognition of his contributions to regional education.
The award was presented by Yayasan Ubudiyah Indonesia chief Dedi Zefrizal at the Ubudiyah Honorary Award presentation ceremony held at Universitas Deztron Indonesia today.
The Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Hajah Dr Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, meanwhile received the Ubudiyah Great Service Award, which was presented by Universitas Deztron Indonesia rector Adjunct Professor Dr Marniati.
Both awards were presented in recognition of Their Royal Highnesses’ unwavering commitment to advancing education, improving welfare, and exemplifying visionary leadership at the regional level.
In his royal address, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra expressed his appreciation to Universitas Deztron Indonesia under the leadership of Marniati and to Yayasan Ubudiyah Indonesia, led by Dedi Zefrizal, describing the award as a symbol of noble responsibility and a recognition of efforts to empower knowledge and virtue.
“This award reinforces the commitment of the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis and myself to continue serving, to elevate the dignity of knowledge, and to bring hope to the lives of the people, Insya-Allah,” he said.
His Royal Highness added that the special ties between Malaysia and Indonesia should be further reinforced through education, which served as the main catalyst for societal transformation.
“Educating anak bangsa means building a nation that is dignified, resilient, and competitive. To the younger generation, never fear to dream ambitiously. Let knowledge be your weapon and shield in overcoming challenges,” he said.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra also conveyed his appreciation to Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Kamarudin Hussin, chairman of the Faizuddin Centre of Educational Excellence (FCoEE) under the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs), for his role in enhancing international cooperation networks.
Also present at the ceremony was Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli.
The award presentation ceremony is part of the agenda under the FCoEE-MAIPs Knowledge Expedition, which will be held over three days starting tomorrow in Medan, Indonesia.
The highlight of the expedition is the International Conference on Holistic Opportunities for Poverty Empowerment 2025, organised by FCoEE in collaboration with MAIPs.
The conference is expected to bring together academics, community leaders, researchers, and industry players from various countries to discuss global issues related to asnaf empowerment, education, and humanity.
Earlier, His Royal Highness launched the Perlis Food Promotion campaign at Universitas Deztron Indonesia, aimed at promoting the state’s local cuisine, particularly in Medan.
