25/09/2025 08:43 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- Army chief Gen Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan said the force is ready to join any peacekeeping mission, including the possibility of being deployed to Gaza, Palestine, if asked to do so.

However, he said any involvement would depend on the government’s decision, in addition to an evaluation of the effectiveness and safety level of the mission.

He added that the assessment would be made by the government, including the Foreign Ministry and the Joint Forces Headquarters.

Elaborating, Muhammad Hafizuddeain said Malaysia has a long-standing record in peacekeeping operations and the Army (TDM) is ready to contribute.

“We have been involved in peacekeeping operations since 1960, starting in Congo, and then in Somalia, Bosnia and Cambodia,” he told reporters here today.

He said this during the closing ceremony of the 14th Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs Conference (IPACC), 49th Indo-Pacific Armies Management Seminar (IPAMS) and 11th Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum (SELF) 2025.
