PENAMPANG, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- A total of 11,101 vehicles, involving 4,412 companies, have been registered in the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) since registration opened on Sept 15 until yesterday, said Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh.
She said this figure represents about 11 percent of the estimated 100,000 eligible vehicles, which fall under 21 categories of public land transport and goods transport.
Therefore, she urged commercial vehicle companies to quickly register their vehicles in SKPS to benefit from the RON95 petrol subsidy through SKPS starting next Tuesday (September 30).
"The registration is quite easy because they only need to apply online through KPDN (Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living), but after KPDN approves, the (oil) companies need time to issue the card (Fleet Card).
"We are concerned that if they register at the last minute, even applying for a cash card will take five days (for the card to be issued by the company). Even if they register today, it won't be ready by September 30. So, please register quickly," she said.
She was speaking to reporters after inspecting the preparations for the implementation of SKPS at a petrol station here today.
Fuziah said the companies involved would need five to 14 days to issue the cards, depending on the type of card, including cash cards and prepaid cards.
