KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, granted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim an audience at Istana Bukit Tunku today.
In a Facebook post on the Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar page, His Majesty stated that the Prime Minister presented a briefing on various current issues during the meeting.
“His Majesty was also briefed on the implementation of the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) initiative and the preparations for the 47th ASEAN Summit, scheduled to take place in the capital next month,” the post read.
On Monday, Anwar announced that the price of RON95 petrol would be reduced to RM1.99 per litre from RM2.05 through the BUDI95 targeted subsidy initiative.
According to the Ministry of Finance, BUDI95 will be opened to 300,000 military and police personnel on Sept 27, followed by Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients on Sept 28.
Registration for the 16 million eligible Malaysians aged 16 and above who possess a MyKad and a valid driver's licence will begin on Sept 30.
The 47th ASEAN Summit will be held in the capital from Oct 26 to 28.
As the Chair of ASEAN this year, Malaysia will host the summit themed “Inclusivity and Sustainability”, which is expected to be a major international gathering, convening leaders from the 10 ASEAN member states and global dialogue partners.
