SEREMBAN, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan edition of the MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025 kicked off today at Dataran Nilai, offering a wide range of activities to bring government agencies closer to the people.

In line with its theme “Digital Merentasi Generasi, Memperkasa Komuniti” (Digital Across Generations, Empowering Communities), the Negeri Sembilan PMR is spearheaded by the Ministry of Digital in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) as the main secretariat.

The three-day event provides a platform for departments and agencies under ministries to directly engage with the public, while showcasing various digital initiatives and services.

The participating agencies include the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, which highlights local digital innovations and promotes opportunities in the digital economy, and Cyber Security Malaysia, which focuses on raising awareness of the growing threat of scams.

The Department of National Digital is introducing national digital policies and initiatives, while the Department of Personal Data Protection is emphasising the importance of personal data protection.

Throughout the programme, a host of people-friendly initiatives are also featured, including a Digital Career Fair offering more than 500 job vacancies, free helmet exchange by the Road Transport Department, traffic summons discounts by the Royal Malaysia Police, and MADANI Rahmah Sale with discounts of up to 30 per cent.

Other services include free motorcycle oil changes and haircuts. An array of local delicacies can also be found at the Selera Nogori food stalls.

Visitors can also enjoy a free screening of Ejen Ali: The Movie at the main stage on Saturday, appearances by mascots of popular animated characters such as Upin, Ipin, and Boboiboy, lucky draws with attractive prizes, as well as mobile services including dental clinics, Wellness on Wheels, Cafe Teen, and services by the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council.

All these initiatives aim to empower communities with knowledge, skills, and new opportunities in the digital world, in line with the government’s aspiration to advance the Malaysia MADANI agenda.

The highlight of the programme is scheduled for Saturday, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiating at the event, underscoring the government’s commitment to the national digital agenda.
