RIYADH, Aug 13 (Bernama-SPA) -- The Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh has drawn more than 2,000 players from over 100 countries, along with devoted fans from across the globe whose passion and cultural diversity have become a hallmark of the event.
To bring these supporters closer to the action, the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) launched the “Superfan Programme”, giving loyal followers the chance to experience the championship in the Kingdom, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
EWCF’s Superfan Programme Manager Aysel Ahmadova said the initiative honoured elite fans by enabling them to support their clubs from the heart of the event and represent their communities.
She said it also fostered cultural exchange by hosting fans from various countries.
The programme provided travel arrangements, exclusive experiences and player meet-and-greets.
EWCF worked with 44 esports clubs to run campaigns and competitions that allowed fans to secure their place in the programme.
This gave participants from outside the Middle East and North Africa region the rare opportunity to cheer for their teams on-site, while sharing their cultures through chants, banners, flags and live interactions at Boulevard Riyadh City.
