KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- Police are looking for witnesses to assist in the investigation into the alleged molestation of a nine-year-old girl by a Bangladeshi worker at a convenience store in Kajang, near here, in February.
Kajang Police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said this followed the discovery of a viral video uploaded yesterday by X account holder @Negeri09, alleging an incident of sexual harassment involving a child, with the footage also showing a man being assaulted.
“Checks found that a police report was lodged on March 12 by the victim’s 32-year-old father. He claimed that his daughter was molested on Feb 27. The report was made after the victim disclosed the incident to her family on March 11.
“The witness to the incident has yet to be located to assist the investigation as there is no closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the location,” he said in a statement today.
Naazron said the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code and Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
He urged anyone with information to come forward by contacting investigating officer Sgt Norfaziana Sirkam at 019-575 9045 or the nearby police station.
