KOTA BHARU, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Over 120 touchpoint services will be made available by various ministries and agencies during the Kelantan MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025, scheduled to take place from Aug 7 to 9 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium grounds here.
Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Strategic Planning Division secretary Dr Noraisah Spahat said the highlights would include MADANI Sales offering discounts of between 10 and 30 per cent, traffic summons discounts of up to 50 per cent by the Royal Malaysia Police, and a helmet exchange initiative involving 3,000 units by the Road Transport Department.
She said the programme would also feature a 'Touch and Feel' technology segment, which will showcase nine cutting-edge innovations, including hydrogen-powered vehicles, agricultural drones, radiation detection systems, gold purity testing, and holographic displays by private companies.
According to Noraisah, MOSTI would introduce several programmes at the event, including STEM Camp, a solar-powered Planet Rover and STI 100³, aimed at cultivating a culture of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) among the community.
“MOSTI, together with the Education Ministry, the Higher Education Ministry and the Digital Ministry, will collaborate to create an interactive space themed around Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology (STEM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), featuring engaging activities such as e-sports and innovative demonstrations,” she said when appearing as a guest on Bernama Radio’s programme today.
Noraisah said the Kelantan PMR 2025 would also offer employment opportunities through the participation of nine employers, with over 800 job vacancies made available in collaboration with the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) and related agencies.
She added that health-related services such as eye and dental checks, general health screenings and reflexology massages would also be offered during the programme, making Kelantan PMR 2025 not only a platform for innovation but also one that promoted public health awareness.
Noraisah said efforts would also be made to facilitate public access to the event by encouraging the use of public transport, in addition to providing four designated parking areas within the stadium grounds.
In addition, she said 18 satellite programmes were scheduled to be held from Aug 1 to 9 at various locations, including an Artificial Intelligence (AI) workshop for youth, a demonstration of the Fishing Site Identification (FSI) system in Pasir Puteh, and the MADANI Kasih Rakyat initiative by the Malaysian Nuclear Agency.
“...with a comprehensive approach and the active involvement of the private sector and community, we hope Kelantan PMR 2025 will be one of the most vibrant editions and will have a significant impact on the people and the state’s development,” she said.
Commenting on the programme’s theme “Science, Technology and Innovation for the People’s Well‑being”, Noraisah said it reflected the government’s commitment to driving inclusive and sustainable development through STI.
“The people of Kelantan are known for their overwhelming support for programmes like this, so we expect attendance to exceed the target. This is more than just an exhibition; it’s a space for the public to experience and better understand technology,” she said.
On Aug 2, Communications Ministry deputy secretary-general (Strategic Communications) Nik Kamaruzaman Nik Husin said about 25,000 visitors were expected to attend the Kelantan edition of the PMR, which will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
