RSN Perlis 2040, Perlis Smart City Plan 2030 Key Documents To Propel State's Development

KANGAR, Sept 4 (Bernama) -- The Perlis State Structure Plan 2040 (Revised Study) and the Perlis Smart City Plan 2030 (Perlis Pintar 2030) will be key documents in outlining a comprehensive and inclusive development direction for the state.

Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli said these documents will serve as the main framework for planning the state's development, with the goal of "Perlisku Bestari: A Progressive, Prosperous, and High-Income State" by 2040.

"Through this comprehensive and strategic approach, the Perlis State Structure Plan 2040 will be a guide in creating a balanced, progressive, and future-oriented environment for the well-being of the people and the economic prosperity of the state.

“Long-term planning through this State Structure Plan is crucial to ensure that development needs, infrastructure, and economic opportunities can accommodate population growth," he said while officiating the Public Publicity and Participation Program for the Perlis State Structure Plan 2040 Draft (Revised Study) and the launch of the Perlis State Smart City Plan 2030, here today.

Regarding the Perlis State Smart City Plan 2030, Mohd Shukri said it represents the state government's commitment to realizing the digitalization and Smart City development agenda to make Perlis a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous smart state.

According to him, the plan is based on seven main components: Smart Governance, Smart Economy, Smart Environment, Smart Living, Smart Mobility, Smart People, and Smart Digital Infrastructure, all to support a comprehensive smart city ecosystem.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Mohd Shukri said the state government is highly hopeful for the public's involvement in the preparation of the Perlis State Structure Plan 2040 draft, so that the document truly reflects the aspirations of the community.

"This is what we hope for... the involvement of all the people in building the State Structure Plan so that it is more successful and comprehensive, and can be implemented within the set timeframe," he said.

He added that a major proposal in the plan includes the construction of a new airport in Perlis, as suggested by the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, which is suitable given the state's location bordering Thailand.
