SANDAKAN, Sept 27 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has made thorough preparations and is ready to implement the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) through the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) initiative, which begins on Sept 30.
Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said all oil companies had also confirmed their readiness for the implementation, including facilities for machines and payment systems at pump terminals or counters at petrol stations.
“From Sept 15 to 26, 2025, SKPS registration records involved a cumulative total of 5,829 companies with 13,800 vehicles nationwide.
“KPDN has also provided flexibility for companies to determine quota distribution based on the fleet card,” she said in a statement here today.
Fuziah said KPDN was confident that the retargeting of petrol subsidies would reduce leakages and abuses occurring at petrol stations and address the risk of excessive increases in the prices of goods and public transport service charges.
“Additionally, any savings from leakages can help the government strengthen the nation’s fiscal position while supporting the channelling of subsidies towards national development expenditure,” she said.
Meanwhile, she said KPDN would also open SKPS customer service counters at all state and branch offices starting Sept 28 to ensure smooth implementation of the initiative.
She said the counters, which will operate for a week, would ensure that state and branch officers understood the differences in mechanisms and pricing between BudiMadani Individu95 using MyKad (RM1.99) and BudiMadani MySubsidi95 @ SKPS using Fleet Card (RM2.05).
She added that any enquiries related to BudiMadani Individu95 using MyKad could be directed to MOF at https://www.budi95.gov.my/contact-us
