LTdL 2025: PDRM To Deploy 164 Officers For Traffic Control

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will deploy 164 officers and personnel to ensure smooth traffic flow during the 29th edition of the Petronas Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2025 cycling race, to be held from Sept 28 to Oct 5.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said officers would be stationed along all main routes and urban areas involved in the eight stages of the race.

He said temporary and phased road closures would be implemented on all main routes, with diversions to be put in place with the assistance of signage and traffic police.

“Members of the public are advised to plan their journeys to avoid traffic congestion.

“Spectators are also reminded to comply with instructions from safety officers and not stand too close to the race routes to avoid the risk of accidents,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Yusri said the race will begin in Langkawi, Kedah, and end at the Petronas Twin Towers here, involving 132 riders from 22 teams.

He also urged the public to give their full cooperation to ensure the smooth running of this international sporting event.

The official race routes are as follows:

Stage 1 (Sept 28): Langkawi (Padang Mat Sirat)

Stage 2 (Sept 29): Padang Besar-Kepala Batas

Stage 3 (Sept 30): Gerik-Pasir Puteh

Stage 4 (Oct 1): Kuala Terengganu-Kemaman

Stage 5 (Oct 2): Temerloh-Bukit Fraser

Stage 6 (Oct 3): Shah Alam-Port Dickson

Stage 7 (Oct 4): Melaka-Medini (Johor)

Stage 8 (Oct 5): Tangkak-Kuala Lumpur (Petronas Twin Towers)
